DNAP Opens New Trade Conversation with INDAG Jabar in West Java

West Java - DNAP (Distribution Networks Asia Pacific) met with Mr. Luky Lukman at INDAG Jabar (Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Provinsi Jawa Barat), the provincial trade and industry office for West Java, to open a new conversation on trade between the province and Melbourne. DNAP Managing Director Mohit Rai was joined by Reza Arfandy of MS Consultants for the meeting.

The Start of a New Relationship

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to strengthen and expand trade relations between Melbourne and West Java at the provincial level, encompassing a broader spectrum of industries, producers, and export potential. Both parties acknowledged that the discussions remain at an early stage, representing an important first substantive dialogue rather than a fully developed action plan. Nevertheless, there was a shared commitment between DNAP and INDAG Jabar to build on this initial engagement and explore practical opportunities for deeper trade and commercial collaboration.

Trade Data, Gaps and Opportunity

Mr. Luky Lukman and his team walked through current trade data between West Java and Australia, giving DNAP a clearer picture of where the existing economic ties already are, and — more usefully — where the gaps sit. The discussion covered the practical barriers that hold West Java's exporters back from the Australian market, and what a more structured pathway between the province and Melbourne could look like over time.

Rather than treat "West Java–Melbourne trade" as one broad ambition, the meeting worked through specific categories, industries and products where the fit looks strongest. DNAP offered its support in helping turn that shortlist into real trade facilitation, working alongside INDAG Jabar.
